perhaps it is fitting that i begin this blog at the beginning of the chinese lunar year.
february 18th marked the year of the pig. and a trip to chinatown yielded these:

the motion in this photo was inadvertently captured due to an exposure of 1/100s. the lesson here is to use a faster lens. this zoom lens showed its weakness in the following shot since the widest aperture it had was f/3.5
i noticed during the processing of these photos that the colour on the original raw photos are much more vibrant than can be diplayed in these jpegs. yet another reason why i will try to print my photos rather than post them solely on this blog.
