grad.2010|anxious

here are the grads of 2010 - ready or not, here they come. an exciting set of teens anxious to take on the world. i had the opportunity to snap a few pictures of them before their celebratory dinner and this is what they showed me:

congratulations to you all!  hope to see you again one day - i had a blast taking your photos!

we are grad 2008

well, it's that time of year again - grad season! here are some friends who asked me to shoot their formals at queen elizabeth park. they lucked out on having it the sunniest day in vancouver this year (i felt sorry for the guys in their suits, though i'm sure these photos will make it totally worth it!)

i had only one hour to shoot all twenty of them, so we had to make each shot count. it was tight, but they made it to their downtown location in time for some dinner and dancing! these are some highlights from their outdoor shoot:

straight out of the limo and in front of the fountain - hurry people!

another classic group photo

the guys were definitely working the camera - it was hard to know when to stop shooting, but we were on the clock and it was ticking fast!

here's my favourite shot with the guys. the girls were giving them a tough time off camera, but they were on their game

classy and beautiful - just like a rainbow

now for some fun in the garden (are we allowed to be in here?)

only a few more minutes left!

phew! that was a crazy photo shoot, but oh how fun it was! thanks for including me on your exciting day no matter how hot, rushed and out-of-bounds it was!

a trip down memory lane

i was going through some old photos in my archive and stumbled upon the pictures from the first wedding i did back in the summer of 2005. these were taken with my sony f707 at a whopping five megapixels! those were the days. anyhow, looking back at these photos makes me realize how far i've come with my photography. it's never a dull moment in the world of capturing images!
this is reine, a good friend of mine

i remember taking this photo just as the elevator doors were about to close

what a beautiful smile!
her sister was elegantly dressed for her part as the maid of honour

the handsome ring bearer

here's ian, dressed in his kilt - classy!

a little after-wedding smooch

i gave this print to them as part of my wedding gift to them along with the slideshow i prepared for the reception.

i remember having a lot of fun taking photos that day. a lot of hard work, but i was proud of the end result. that being said, i could definitely kick my former self's butt on a photo shoot - such is the beauty of experience and education.

well, back to organizing the archive - thanks for reminiscing with me!

i am precious

meet jacob. he just turned one year old not too long ago and has perfected his camera smile. he's a lot easier to work with than some of the model types i've shot in the past. he's an absolute natural in front of the lens and these photos prove it.

getting him to smile was easier than... taking candy from a baby?

he insisted that this was his favourite pose - who was i to argue?

a little easily distracted, but photogenic nonetheless!

working it

ah - the perfect picture!

thanks, jacob, for letting me take pictures of you! your professionalism is outstanding, and i look forward to seeing you on the cover of a magazine one of these days (just remember to tell them you already have a photographer ;)

we are enthusiastic

meet the Legal family. they have the most unique dynamic of any family i have ever had the pleasure of meeting. as an anniversary gift to their parents, the children decided to have family portraits done. what a great idea!

the Legal family - complete with matching attire: two daughters, one son, and one son-in-law.

ladies first, of course

and then the guys

the first kissing photo i've ever posted

kids at play

my favourite montage

this photo says it all

congratulations on your anniversary! there was never a dull moment photographing all of you.
