nicole.brock|extraordinary

nicole and brock are genuine, down-to-earth people with a love for life that is rivaled only by their love for each other.  their concern for others was obvious in the way they handled the small details of their wedding.  from ensuring that their make-up and photography crew was fed and hydrated, to seating their wedding party with friends and family - these two wanted to show the people who cared about them that they care about them too.

patient and calm, nicole

these two look absolutely perfect together

 photogenic, brock

congratulations nicole and brock!  (and yes, baby photos for sure ;)

you and i are unstoppable

though i wasn't the official photographer for my sister's wedding, i couldn't help but take a few photos when no one was looking.  i'm proud to say that i am now a brother-in-law to my sister's husband (great to have you in the family, Rob!)  if you missed it, i took their engagement photos earlier this year.

here's daughter and mother getting done up

she's come a long way from being "just my sister"  i remember when she used to be taller than me and had hair down to her waist

doesn't mom look absolutely beautiful here? i'm sure i'm not being biased or anything

i couldn't resist doing some detail shots

oh! what's this? a sweet note from the husband-to-be

the reception after the wedding was not lacking in entertainment, that's for sure

yes, lion dancers as well (sis, you did an awesome job of planning this wedding!)

aww... first dance

daddy's girl - all grown up (it's a good thing they both know how to dance the fox trot!)

i know a lot of you are wondering what happened to the ceremony photos.  well, out of respect to the official photographers at sakura photography (and because i was part of the ceremony) i opted not to bring the camera with me to the church.  however, if you wish to see the photos (and they're pretty amazing - mark and leslie you guys are awesome!) you should visit their website. congrats again, athena and rob!

you and i are extravagant

when i say "extravagant" i'm not referring to a lavish or exorbitant lifestyle (though to them, they've already won the lottery of a different kind) no, when i say "extravagant" i'm talking about the love that jen and stefan have for each other.
recently, jen posted a very flattering entry about my work on her blog: asihavelovedyou.blogspot.com
i certainly hope these photos made you happy, though i'm sure they're are only a taste of things to come.

and i'm sure some people have been waiting to see these photos, and i wouldn't be living up to expectations if i didn't present these in due haste, so here we go - off to YVR airport!

stefan's eyes just radiate - they're a bright blue, but i'm sure there's another reason they glow

the two of them will be welcoming many visitors to vancouver at the end of this month

there were so many of these tender moments during their session

absolutely...

...extravagant!
a little serious...

... and a lot of fun!

(this one's my favourite!)

there's something majestic about these two that translates well in pictures

thank you, jen and stefan, for letting me help record your special day and for the kind words on your blog.  i can't wait to meet the rest of your families and friends!

you and i are made for each other

well, it's that time of year - wedding season and if i'm not attending a wedding or part of a wedding, i'm photographing a wedding.

to get things started, my sister asked me to do her engagement photos. i won't be doing the wedding (since i will most likely be in the family portraits) but here are some highlights from their session.

classic

this one is my favourite

always time for fun

this one is definitely a crowd pleaser

thanks, sis and rob, for letting me shoot your engagement photos - it was a LOT of fun. hope you don't mind if i print one off for mom and dad!

we are grad 2008

well, it's that time of year again - grad season! here are some friends who asked me to shoot their formals at queen elizabeth park. they lucked out on having it the sunniest day in vancouver this year (i felt sorry for the guys in their suits, though i'm sure these photos will make it totally worth it!)

i had only one hour to shoot all twenty of them, so we had to make each shot count. it was tight, but they made it to their downtown location in time for some dinner and dancing! these are some highlights from their outdoor shoot:

straight out of the limo and in front of the fountain - hurry people!

another classic group photo

the guys were definitely working the camera - it was hard to know when to stop shooting, but we were on the clock and it was ticking fast!

here's my favourite shot with the guys. the girls were giving them a tough time off camera, but they were on their game

classy and beautiful - just like a rainbow

now for some fun in the garden (are we allowed to be in here?)

only a few more minutes left!

phew! that was a crazy photo shoot, but oh how fun it was! thanks for including me on your exciting day no matter how hot, rushed and out-of-bounds it was!
